The Welcoming & Hospitality Team ministry helps us to ensure every person who walks through the doors feels cared about, informed and included. Team members are dedicated to providing all who enter the church with a warm reception, plus any assistance necessary for them to comfortably participate in the service. Special attention is given to our first-time visitors, to provide them with a warm welcome and any needed information, and introduce them to the other church members in their new faith home.
In the Old Testament tradition the "door-keeper" was an exalted office, one of great trust. Currently, this liturgical Ministry of Hospitality is highly visible and vital to the saving work of the Church.
Greeters and ushers welcome and seat those gathering for worship, and are responsible for the collection of offerings at weekend or other liturgies. At the entrances to the church they welcome and assist the gathering assembly, especially anyone who is new to our parish or has special needs. At the end of Mass some hand out bulletins. At some celebrations they hand out worship aids and collect them afterwards. We welcome women and men (teens and adults) who would like to serve in this ministry. Please contact Mary if you would like to serve in this ministry.
“I was a stranger and you welcomed me”
We strive to have our parishioners to go out and invite, and to welcome guests in with God’s warmth and love. Both of our parishes now have a Welcome Center, which is a tangible gesture that great hospitality is a top priority for this collaborative. During the weekend Masses, you will see it in our foyers, because we want to make it easy for us to connect with people who are new or visiting our parish. If you want to help us in this ministry, please visit the Welcome Center.
