- All adults 18 and older in the Apple Valley Catholic Community are invited to consider joining the Adult Christian Service Ministry Volunteers to plan and carry out activities together to serve our neighbors in need.
- Currently, we meet once every few months for planning and updates (all are welcome but not obliged to attend) and communicate volunteer opportunities and updates via an email list and in the bulletin.
- Some of our recent and recurring volunteer activities:
- Serving meals at Mt. Calvary Community Supper in Acton (every other month)
- Serving meals at Cor Unum in Lawrence (monthly)
- Volunteering as a group at Household Goods in Acton (monthly)
- Assisting with Lenten food drive
- Assisting with The Giving Tree during Advent
- In the past we have also volunteered as a group for Habitat for Humanity, served lunch at Lazarus House in Lawrence, worked together with members of the Social Justice Ministry to assist others and offer programs on Catholic Social teaching, conducted a fall school backpack drive, and traveled on mission trips to help with repairs after weather related events. We also welcome ideas you may have for other activities.
All are welcome and encouraged to join us whenever you are interested and availablle!
To volunteer for any of these opportunities, you are under no obliigation for any long term commitment. All are welcome to volunteer according to their own schedule and interest.
